When Pain Stops Making Cents: Tendinopathies, Shockwave, & the Business of Better Care

This episode takes a practical look at tendinopathy from both the clinical and business sides of practice. We explore how to distinguish mechanical from neurological pain, when rehabilitation needs to address both tendon capacity and nervous-system sensitivity, and how manipulating load can help clinicians better understand the patient’s pain experience.

Then, we bring those concepts into the real world with Dr. Brennan Donahue, discussing Shockwave therapy for proximal hamstring injuries.

Finally, we shift to the business side, breaking down how to evaluate the profitability of add-on services like Shockwave by tracking utilization, conversions, costs, provider performance, and contribution margin.
