Chiropractic Notes with AI: Using Voice to Chart in ChiroUp
ChiroUp’s Voice to Chart is changing the way chiropractors document care. With a single tap, you can securely record your patient interaction and instantly generate a subjective synopsis for your SOAP note using AI assistance.
Here’s why it’s a game-changer:
Hands-Free Charting: I haven’t typed a single word into my chart in over three months. That’s the kind of efficiency providers are experiencing.
Smart Survey Integration: Patients complete a compliant survey before walking into the treatment room. This gives you a ready-made framework to ask the right questions and gather the most useful information.
One-Click Simplicity: The moment your patient enters the room, just click START and capture every important detail. Then, when the conversation is over, click STOP. That's it!
Seamless Workflow: From survey to SOAP note, Voice to Chart ensures nothing is missed—while saving you time and freeing up your focus for the patient.
This blog and video walks you step-by-step through using Voice to Chart, showing you how easily it fits into your daily flow.
4 Steps To Use Voice to Chart
1. Navigate to the patient's encounter and click the microphone icon to start recording.
2. During the first recording attempt in a patient’s encounter, the system will prompt you to confirm that verbal consent to record has been obtained. Once you have obtained verbal consent, click Consent Obtained to proceed with recording.
No additional consent is required for future visits with the same patient.
3. After clicking Consent Obtained, Voice to Chart will automatically record your conversation with the patient. The summary of this conversation will be input into the subjective section of your SOAP output.
4. ChiroUp allows continuous recording. To end the recording, click the green button with a checkmark. An AI-generated summary will appear in the subjective section within 5–10 seconds per minute of audio recorded. The final summary is editable in the SOAP note. Finally, complete the Objective, Assessment, and Plan sections, then review the SOAP output and sign the note!
✍️ Remember: You remain responsible for verifying accuracy. You can unsign and edit the note at any time, including changes to generated content.
Benefits of Chiropractic Documentation using AI
Focused Documentation
Voice to Chart only records signs and symptoms relevant to the patient’s complaint.
It includes both mechanical and psychological concerns impacting musculoskeletal care.
Irrelevant details (like vacations or small talk) are automatically excluded.
Best Recording Practices
Use Voice to Chart primarily during the Subjective portion of the visit.
Continuous recording is possible, but avoid exam/treatment chatter to improve accuracy and save minutes.
The AI summary will populate only in the Subjective section of your note.
Equipment Setup
Ensure your device’s microphone is clear and unobstructed.
If the built-in mic doesn’t capture well, use an external microphone for better accuracy. The one below is $15 from Amazon.com
